Workshop Gadgets and Organization

Welcome to my shop! If you have been following along for a while now you know that my workshop has changed drastically over the years and that I have made some pretty big improvements recently with the addition of my Modular Miter Station.

I think the whole shop improvements thing is going to be a never-ending process as I am always looking at ways to improve my workflow and get more organized. So when Nite Ize offered to send me their DIY Life’s Adventure Kit I was excited to see what I could do with it.

Thank you to Nite Ize for kindly sponsoring this post. All opinions are 100% honest & completely my own.

This is what comes in the kit:

I think my favorite item in the kit was the Gear Ties. I found uses all over the shop so quickly for them. On the side of my DIY Flip Top Workbench I have shelves that I store my sanders and some other miscellaneous tools…. most of which have cords… and this is what it usually looks like…

Cords everywhere and it can be a real pain when trying to roll the cart into a new location and one gets caught under a wheel. Or when you are leaning up against the cart the cords and get caught on your pants… just a real pain. Well that is until I started using the Nite Ize Gear Ties. Here is what it looks like now…

They are easy to use and are reusable. And now that I know how nice and organized I can get the cords I love wrapping them up. I always find a clean shop helps me to be more creative… so these bad boys are AWESOME!

Next up was the INOVA T4R Rechargeable Tactical Flashlight . Every house, workshop, or car needs a flashlight in my opinion. And I love that this one is rechargeable, no need to worry about batteries. It feels really heavy duty and shines bright (850 lumens). I haven’t decided if I wanna keep this one in my truck or the house yet? Or maybe just get another one and have one in each spot? It always nice to have a light in emergency situations.

Another favorite of mine was the S-Biner #10 Dual Carabiner.

When I first saw it I had no idea what I was gonna use it for, but then with working on our back patio and moving tools, almost daily, from my garage shop to the backyard I quickly found a use. I have been using it to wrap up my extension cord and easily carry it. Plus, it can be hooked on something and stored out of the way. Funny how my two favorite gadgets have both helped with cords! I told you I strongly dislike them… cords that is! Maybe it was because I didn’t have the proper storage before. When everything has a place it is real nice.

Okay now this next one is just cool. It doesn’t come in the DIY Life’s Adventure Kit, but it is from Nite Ize as well. It is the Steelie Pedestal Kit. Somewhere to put my phone so it doesn’t get lost under whatever is on the workbench and it holds my phone just right to watch Instagram stories while I am sanding… don’t tell me you don’t do that! You basically stick a magnet on the back of you phone case and then it sticks to the steelie. And my favorite part is that you can get other Steelie’s and say put one in your car or on your nightstand, so wherever you go your phone has a home.

And the last thing in the kit was a Dual CamJam Tie Down System. I have yet to use it yet, but it is heavy duty and now has a permanent home in my truck. That way I will never forget a tie town on my next lumber run. Or won’t have to worry that something will fly out of the back of my truck when I pick up that crazy piece of furniture on the side of the road. Better to be prepared.

All of these gadgets from Nite Ize are gonna be super handy to have around the shop. Do you have any favorite gadgets around your shop or home? I would love to hear about them in the comments below… because you can never be too organized and having the right tool for the job just makes making that much better!

Thank you for following my journey! Keep #BuildingAwesome and have an AWESOME day!
