But since these chairs are made with pressure treated wood we are going to go straight to the penetrating oil. We don’t want to burn pressure treated wood and release any of the chemicals in it.
I like penetrating oil because it soaks into the wood and will never peel or crack… which makes maintenance down the road super easy.
If you have been following me for a while you might have seen these chairs before… they are my one-board campfire chairs. I made them over three years ago and they have since sat out in the AZ sun, rain and everything in between.
And even though they are in good shape, they could use come sprucing up so that they can last for many more years to come. So, let’s get started.
I recently built a floating deck that turned out AWESOME, but it didn’t have anywhere to sit. So, I designed a super simple and AWESOME set of loungers that you can easily make in 1 day.
All you need is some 2x4’s, 2x6’s, hinges, wood glue and outdoor rated wood screws. Oh and a saw and a drill! This is truly a beginner project. Let me show you how to build them.
I’m so excited to share this build with you. I have always wanted a concrete coffee table, but lifting all those heavy bags and creating a form and waiting for it to cure was just a little to daunting for me. So when I found this concrete feather finish I knew I wanted to give it a try.
Who is ready for a pool party or spending more time in the backyard with friends and family? I know I am! And this week I am sharing the perfect build that will be the life of the party all centered around the drink cooler! Yup, I am building a DIY Cooler Deck Box. It is not only going to look AWESOME and give you an elevated place to keep your drinks cold and hidden, but it also has a cutting board! You know for those snacks or to cut up some limes for your favorite summer beverage. So let’s get started building!
It’s that time of year again where I start thinking of all outdoors projects! You see spring is my favorite time of year and I like to spend as much time outside, so having that right bench to hang out on is very important. The bench not only has to look good, but be comfortable and durable to with stand the AZ sun and monsoon season. Well, I teamed up with my friends over at Simpson Strong-Tie and I think I came up with the perfect bench that is easy on the eyes, easy to build, comfortable and is gonna last a long time no matter where you live.
Who doesn’t love sitting around a campfire!?! I know I sure do and that is the reason I wanted to build these. But I also didn’t want to spend a ton of money on materials to make them because outdoor furniture can take a beating in the Arizona heat. So I decide to challenge myself to make them each with one (1) board… one 2x12 construction grade board. That along the hardware brought each chair to a cost of $22. Can’t beat that, so let me show you how I did it.
I recently teamed up with Bernzomatic to be part of their “Torch Bearer” program…. what does that mean you might ask. Well, it means that over the next year I will be bringing you several projects that include some sort of torched element. I am so excited to get to add this element to my making… just another way to bring you more AWESOME DIY projects!
I’ve teamed up with a group of other blogger for another challenge this month. This time the theme is DIY Outdoor…. so of course I wanted to make something else for my soon-to-be new patio!!! This time I choose a DIY Outdoor Cooler Deck Box. Within the last year I had to retire my first build ever, see it here…. so I needed some place for hidden storage. Someplace to maybe hide a cooler? or some pillows? or charcoal? However I end up using it most all I know is that it has to look cute.
