DIY Modern Counter Height Chairs

Today I am sharing how I made some AWESOME counter height chairs or bar stools! These are for a client and match a dining room table and benches I made for her. I can’t wait to see the complete set altogether.

This design is a simple way to make chairs… the joinery is mostly butt joints and with countersunk screws! So this is a great project if this is your first time making chairs… or stools… not sure what to call them!

One Board Campfire Chairs | Shou Sugi Ban

Who doesn’t love sitting around a campfire!?! I know I sure do and that is the reason I wanted to build these. But I also didn’t want to spend a ton of money on materials to make them because outdoor furniture can take a beating in the Arizona heat. So I decide to challenge myself to make them each with one (1) board… one 2x12 construction grade board. That along the hardware brought each chair to a cost of $22. Can’t beat that, so let me show you how I did it.

DIY Modern Deck Chairs

It seems like everybody is always focused on decorating the interior of their homes, but what about the backyard? Here in AZ we spend a lot of time in ours, maybe not this time of the year, and well why shouldn't it look AWESOME too? So when my friends at Kreg asked me to partner on a project for BuildSomething.com, I was excited to design and build a piece that would give life to our backyard. Plus add some much needed seating! We currently only have some of those plastic adirondack chairs that have seen one to many summers in AZ, if you know what I mean.
